“My wife and I had our first child back in March. We had been going to Southwest Midwives for our prenatals, where we met Izzy. As new parents, we weren’t sure how anything would go as far as the pregnancy and birth. Izzy mentioned she was a doula at one of our appointments, which is something I had never heard of. After some research on her services and the care a doula provides, it was a no-brainer to bring Izzy on!
My wife and I are both from the Midwest, where our families reside. Having Izzy here for us meant the world. We were scared going into the birth having no support( Even though my mother-in-law was fortunate enough to catch a last minute flight to be there for the birth.) Izzy was on call 24/7 at 38 weeks which was super comforting for both myself and my wife.
During labor, Izzy supported my wife through meditation, massaging, and more. Izzy never left her side. She was so helpful and worked in unison with our midwife. Izzy is extremely knowledgeable in her field. If you are hesitant to hire a doula for any reason, I encourage you to reach out and speak with her, she will change your mind quickly. I couldn’t have been happier to have Izzy there supporting myself and more importantly my wife.
If you are having a child in the area, hire a doula, and make sure that doula is Izzy! She is so sweet and kind. To have that support was amazing.” -OO
“Izzy supported me as a doula during the birth of my first child, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She took time with me and my husband before the arrival of our child to understand us as a couple and our birth preferences. Then when it came to supporting us during labor and delivery, Izzy worked with the hospital staff to advocate for our desires. Izzy also supported me emotionally and physically during the birth – I was able to stick to the most important aspects of my original birth plan because of her support.
After we brought our daughter home, Izzy paid us a visit to support me with breastfeeding, which made all the difference. “Having Izzy guide me through pregnancy and be at my birth was the best thing to happen! While I was pregnant she made me feel empowered, in control of my own experience, and informed in all of the up to date research. While I was in labor I was trying to go as long as I could without getting an epidural, and she made that dream possible with all of her techniques to help with the pain. She is very hands on and that made a world of a difference with horrible contractions. You can tell she pours her soul into mothers (and the family) during their hardest yet most rewarding time in their lives. She has a beautiful soul and feels like a sister in more ways than one.
